Jharkhand Anti Trafficking Network (JATN) is an initiative to foster safe mobility and thereby counter trafficking in Jharkhand state. Our gender and inclusive rights approach aims to popularize the concept of safe mobility, security and protection of migrants among various Govt. and non-Govt. stakeholders to practice the same for the community to counter trafficking in Jharkhand. At present, Jharkhand Anti Trafficking Network is actively working in 13 districts of Jharkhand.
JATN is committed to educate and safeguard the uniformed, unaware, uneducated and marginalized sections from unsafe migration. Our network collects data, research and evidences of crimes committed against Jharkhand’s migrants and women. We also intend to associate them with government schemes and benefits.

The women collective/ WSHG meetings are conducted in villages and we share our views with them regarding safe migration, women right, trafficking, child marriage, COVID relief and vaccination. The laws related to safe migration and precautions taken for safe migration are also discussed in the meetings.
Through this group also the safe migration promoted in the area is discussed. Education, health and child marriage issues as well as safe migration and trafficking issues are also prominently discussed in these meetings.
At present we are working in 130 villages directly in which we have forming migrant forum in each village comprising the community people of the village, potential migrants, returnee migrants, village leaders and stakeholders, frontline workers sahiya, sewika, sahayika, ANM etc.
Engagement of ASHA, sahiya and sewika about the meaning of safe migration , we conducted meetings with the front line workers. We stated about our warriors, and at grass root level ASHA, sahiya, Jalsahiya they are the warriors, to whom we wanted to promote and encourage.
13 organizations are working as information centre regarding safe mobility and women’s right. The information centers provide information to the community, women and girls about Safe Migration related issues, Trafficking related, Migrant laborers, Laws related to mobility, Women’s right, COVID related and Govt. schemes.
Community-based programmes to help migrants avoid situations of labor exploitation continues to grow the work was conducted with the knowledge that political, economic and social structures create and sustain contexts of risk for migrant workers To develop prevention interventions to promote safer migration in contexts that are risk-laden.
Due to the COVID-19 situation throughout the area, almost each organization has involved in the process of awareness generation, relief work and vaccination process.
Each organization working in coordination with WCD and labor departments at block and district level also with DLSA and AHTU. In some districts good rapport established.
State level Network meeting organized at SDC Ranchi on 26/11/2021 to review the ongoing work and to plan for the next quarter. All the associated organizations are working effectively at their respective fields.
